Back to people

 I missed painting people :)

T'was a rainy day

It's been crazy HOT the past couple of days so I was really happy that it rained today.

This is the view outside my window. Reminds me of Arundhati Roy's lush The God of Small Things. On the left is one of the many banana trees growing in our garden. Too bad the fruit they bear are not the best kind for eating raw. I plan to replant them with the berangan banana that taste way better than the ones we have right now and don't go bad as fast as those sold at the supermarket.
That's my neighbours' house in the pic. They are so sweet about the banana leaves that keep drooping over their wall. Oops!

Kaftan colours

Sweetie #2 has grown so tall she can fit into my mom's clothes! So, my mom gave Sweetie #2 her rather-newly-bought kaftan and now all she does is wear it all day long. Love the colours!

A bird and flowers

Sometimes I feel the work is missing something but I'm not quite sure what it is. In this case adding the clouds made all the difference. Wish I had taken a before photo.

Watercolour and acrylic ink on 300 gm watercolour paper.

Birdies

All that glitters is not gold. All that is bright may not hold. Ok. I made that second bit up. I bought a new set of watercolour today. You can see it in the upper lefthand corner. As bright as the colours may be they don't hold up on paper. Not even a fraction. Bummer. I used the DR watercolour set, acrylic paint and acrylic ink for this piece but thought the phony palette looked great with it.
